Playwerx visit with Calvin

We met up with Sue and Calvin on Sunday for a visit to Playwerx.

The boys had a great time playing and reading books. We had one crash on the structure which resulted in a very bloody Calvin nose. While I was cleaning him up he just kept asking to go back on the slide.

The boys really enjoy playing together and were very good! - Lucas can't wait to see Cal again.

I didn't get many pictures...but here are a couple.

Visit to the Solana Beach Fire Station

Saturday was the Open House at the Solana Beach Fire Station and what a thrill it was for Lucas. He had a great time and we enjoyed it too. Lucas is still talking about the trip and Rich is still remarking about the ocean view the fireman have.

Here are a couple of pictures.

This is the Border Patrol Robot (if Lucas tells you about the crinkled up robot that is what he is talking about)

They also did a jaws of life demonstration, but all we got to see was the end result - Lucas was fascinated by it.

Busy Weekend full of Parties and Pumpkin Patches!

We are recovering from our busy weekend, which started with a very successful garage sale with Aunt Katie - from there we headed out to Sue, Ted and Calvin's house for a party to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. It was nice to catch up with friends and family - they had a band and a wonderful cake. (I am still dreaming about it)

Sunday we were up early and met Charlie and his family at the Pumpkin Station for some fun and pumpkin picking and then off to Calvin's 4th birthday party. Lucas wanted to stop at Sea World on the way home from Cal's house...luckily he fell asleep before he realized we went past it. :)

Some pictures from the weekend.

Owen fell asleep before I could get a picture of the 2 of them together.

Big Slide

Yes, he is airborn! Yikes!

A few pictures from Calvin's party. They were able to fit a bouncy on the back patio which kept the kids busy (along with some tears). Uncle Mike kept a good eye on Owen Michael. Calvin blowing out his "4" candle and my favorite of an exhausted Lucas munching on his cupcake.

Owen is 3 months today!

It's hard to believe 3 months has gone by. Owen is such a little sweety with the most expressive eyes and facial expressions. He loves to watch his big brother and to snuggle with his mom and dad. He spends lots of time on his einstein mat laughing and giggling (just like his brother did) and is just shy of rolling over. He doesn't sleep much during the day, but crashes hard at night. Can I stop him from growing up and just keep him as a little guy?

Lucas' Day

We met up today with Katherine and Roman and went to the Legoland Sealife Aquarium and then to Roman's house for some sand fun. Lucas (as usual) had a great time. We'll pass on visiting the aquarium again - but definately play with Roman again. After our playdate - Lucas hung out at home and refused to take a nap (Owen did too). They must have known that they were being dropped off at Aunt Pamme's and Uncle Mike's house - so Mom and Dad could celebrate their 3 year anniversary (and have a glass of wine to celebrate Calvin Shaw's 4th birthday!). Lucas was reluctant to go, but had a great time with his Aunt and Uncle - Mom and Dad had a good time too!

Halloween Legoland and the thrill of Lucas' life

Saturday we went to the "Brick or Treat" Party Night at Legoland.. Fun, except the place where they had all the Halloween fun had a hour wait - so we opted to go on a couple of rides and play in the "haunted" fort. Lucas had fun - Owen was a little overwhelmed at the beginning but crashed after being there for an hour. Lucas requested ice cream on the way home and of course we didn't say no. We have a great self serve yogurt place just down the street - so it wasn't all that bad. When we were eating our yogurt,3 fireman arrived to get their yogurt and overheard Lucas recognizing them and us saying we'd take him to look at the fire engine and they invited Lucas to sit in the fire engine. As you can see from the picture - Lucas wasn't ready to go on his own - so up went mom with him. Once we were done they gave him a honorary firefighter badge, then we walked around the fire engine 3 times - Lucas pointing out every piece of equipment. He hasn't stopped talking about it. (Mom and Dad were pretty impressed with the firefighters generosity and kindness to Lucas.)

Lucas thought we were at the pumpkin patch and you could take the pumpkins

Lucas is now in to Bob the Builder and was so excited to take this picture

The fire engine picture - it was a rushed picture, but what a great memory

Lucas loves Halloween

Lucas helped me get the Halloween decorations out yesterday. He decided that he needed to decorate his room with Pumpkins and gathered them as we unpacked and then started taking trips upstairs with them. Tonight he wanted to sleep with some of favorite Pumpkins and even sang them a song before he went to bed.

I think he loves Halloween more than his mom. :)

Playwerks

An indoor playground/jungle gym opened in Carlsbad this summer. We went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and Lucas keeps talking about going back.

Since dad was at the Angels game tonight (yes, they lost), we met up with Charlie in hopes to burn off some energy. The kids had a good time. Lucas has no fear in climbing, sliding and swinging and showed his pal, Charlie the ropes. Only got a couple of pictures. I do love the one with Charlie and Owen. Charlie adores Owen and always wants to sit next to him and touch, poke etc.

Daycare Adventures

Over the last couple of weeks, Mr. Dan has been taking the big kids on "nature" walks around their community. They bring a bag and collect leaves, watch a train go by and stop off to see "bob the builder" (a construction site at the edge of the property). Lucas always comes back with a story about something he has seen.

A couple of pictures with his friends. First picture Kaili and Robert - second picture Brendan
