Quail Botanical Gardens

The Saturday before Christmas we met up with Pamme, Mike, Ted, Sue, Calvin, Randy, Janice and Richard Peerson at the Quail Botanical Gardens to see their light display. The boys has a great time running around with the light sticks Uncle Mike brought for them. Most of us piled in the horse drawn carriage and sang songs on our brief little ride around the garden. Everyone headed on to our house afterwards for chili, cornbread and quite a bit of belgian beer. It was great to see the boys playing together. Lucas still talks about the night.

Wild Animal Park

We spent an evening at the Wild Animal Park with Charlie, Yaz and Darrick. The park holds this event annually - though the fires burned the shed theat held all the lights, they were able to pull off a wonderful event. The boys had a good time, but it was really cold. They decorated a cookie and looked at the lights. I think they probably would have been happy staying just outside the park and running around under the snow making machine. :)

December and the beginning of Santa time!

We all started December with the flu bug, but that didn't stop us. We decorated the house, attended some fun events and helped Rich celebrate turning 40! Lucas is starting to understand who Santa is.

Our first event was the tree lighting at Leo Carrillo Park (we had our wedding reception there)
We watched as Santa lit the Christmas tree and then got to check out all the lighted animals around the tree. We weren't going to have Lucas take his picture with Santa, but he dragged us over to see him. Very nice Santa, though the candy cane girl was very distracting. Within minutes of the picture, the skies opened up and it started to pour with rain, so our evening was over.

Three Thanksgivings

We had a great time celebrating on 3 different days. First driving out to Grammie and Grampa's house in La Quinta. We had a great meal with local friends. Lucas enjoyed a quick swim (water temp 82 degrees - air temp - cold!) and playing on the golf course with Dad and Danny (the dog). On Saturday, we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Bainbridge family. It was one of the first times in years that all 3 girls were together for a holiday. Lucas loved being fussed over by his Aunts. On Sunday, we had brunch with the Shaw-Peerson clan. Lucas was able to play with his 2nd cousin Calvin who turned 3 in October. (Too bad we forgot the camera)...
