Summer Solstice and First TGIF Jazz Concert of the Season

We braved the 90 degree temps and went to the first concert of the season at Stagecoach Park -- our friends, Don, Suzanne, Emma and Mike met us there...Lucas as usual had a great time. He is still talking about Emma (who shares his b-day - just one year later) and the band. -- He had some great dance moves as the evening wore on (dad needs to add the video to the blog later -- too cute!)

-Enter Dad-
"Ahem..."

"Hey. Is this thing on?

Okay. Great.

(cough, cough)

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Here he is.
The one.
The only.

Father's Day and the US Open

We spent the Saturday before Father's Day at the US Open -- Torrey Pines. No pictures, because they don't allow your to bring anything in...no cameras, phones, drinks etc.

We had a great time -- saw Tiger, Phil and a bunch of others. Though I forgot that we were going to be by the ocean -- so it was one bad hair day (good thing no cameras).

Can't wait for 2016 and Rich can take the boys!

PS -- I wish I had bought the poster below -- $28 at the tourney -- going for $175 on ebay :(

Wild Animal Park

Lucas and I took Aunt Katie to the Wild Animal Park a couple of weeks ago. Probably our last trip until the summer is over (temps are over 100 there right now)...
We didn't take many pictures, but here are a couple. One of Lucas on his first tram ride and visiting the gorilla statue (which he prefers over the real gorillas)

Potty Training...

Thanks to Candy (our daycare provider) we started in May. Lucas has done a great job, with no accidents at daycare and very few at home. He loves reading books while sitting on the potty and cons mom and dad in to reading the entire book before taking care of business. :)

(I never thought I'd be writing about potty training, but this is a big milestone for our family! :))

How many times can Lucas go to Legoland in the month of May?

Lucas is becoming a little lego boy! -- He went with Mom at the beginning of the month (no pictures), Aunt Pamme and Aunt Sue in the middle of the month (no pictures) and with Charlie at the end of the month (pictures).

The boys had a great time. The weather was great and the park was not crowded in the morning. Lucas came home and took a 3.5hour nap!

Sea World

We took Lucas to Sea World on Friday night for the beginning of Summer Nights. Ted, Sue and Cal met us there. Funny, the only pictures we took were of Lucas in the Sesame Play area. He loved playing in there. He tackled the bouncy on his own (a first) and loved meeting Elmo -- he wanted to go back again and again.

We also took him to see the Sharks (at his request) - He was a little afraid with of the sharks and kept wanting dad to back up a bit more - but not too far where he couldn't see them. He loved the Dolphin show too. We missed the Shamu show and the firsworks as they both didn't start until 9:30pm (past our bedtime).
