Halloween 2008

It's almost 10pm and we have just blown out the candles in the pumpkins and turned off the lights, putting Halloween 2008 to bed. Lucas was asleep by 8:30pm - tuckered out from trick or treating through the neighborhood and passing out candy to all who rang our door bell (including 2 times in his underwear). He has grown so much from last year. He was timid and shy last year - this year he walked up to each house and politely said "trick or treating" (We'll work on on dropping the "ing" next year.) and most times said thank you without us reminding. He liked the man in the darth vader outfit and said that he was his buddy...hmmm. Owen hung out in the snugli - laughing and cooing at all who would look at him and watching his brother the entire night - he is such a sweet happy boy. Pictures below capture our pumpkin carving last night and our Halloween.

Lucas on the phone with Grammie and Grandpa (who are sick and couldn't come visit for Halloween) - He is "showing" them the scraper and explaining the carving process.

Owen got in the act too. He was trying to grab and suck on the pumpkin lid.

My dear sweet Owen...

My scary big boy (wearing the mask he made at Candy's)

Our front yard (hard to tell)

Rich and Owen's pumpkins

Lucas and Jen's pumpkins (Lucas carved his all by himself!)

Rich's masterpiece

A quick pic with our neighbors. The street above us comes by and picks us and the Chronic's up to tour the neighborhood.

Owen - wondering when Mom is going take this silly hat off

One tired fire fighter...

who is done having his picture taken

and doesn't find it amusing to have mom put Owen on his lap

Stripped down and checking out (and tasting) his loot

Playwerx visit with Calvin

We met up with Sue and Calvin on Sunday for a visit to Playwerx.

The boys had a great time playing and reading books. We had one crash on the structure which resulted in a very bloody Calvin nose. While I was cleaning him up he just kept asking to go back on the slide.

The boys really enjoy playing together and were very good! - Lucas can't wait to see Cal again.

I didn't get many pictures...but here are a couple.

Visit to the Solana Beach Fire Station

Saturday was the Open House at the Solana Beach Fire Station and what a thrill it was for Lucas. He had a great time and we enjoyed it too. Lucas is still talking about the trip and Rich is still remarking about the ocean view the fireman have.

Here are a couple of pictures.

This is the Border Patrol Robot (if Lucas tells you about the crinkled up robot that is what he is talking about)

They also did a jaws of life demonstration, but all we got to see was the end result - Lucas was fascinated by it.

Busy Weekend full of Parties and Pumpkin Patches!

We are recovering from our busy weekend, which started with a very successful garage sale with Aunt Katie - from there we headed out to Sue, Ted and Calvin's house for a party to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. It was nice to catch up with friends and family - they had a band and a wonderful cake. (I am still dreaming about it)

Sunday we were up early and met Charlie and his family at the Pumpkin Station for some fun and pumpkin picking and then off to Calvin's 4th birthday party. Lucas wanted to stop at Sea World on the way home from Cal's house...luckily he fell asleep before he realized we went past it. :)

Some pictures from the weekend.

Owen fell asleep before I could get a picture of the 2 of them together.

Big Slide

Yes, he is airborn! Yikes!

A few pictures from Calvin's party. They were able to fit a bouncy on the back patio which kept the kids busy (along with some tears). Uncle Mike kept a good eye on Owen Michael. Calvin blowing out his "4" candle and my favorite of an exhausted Lucas munching on his cupcake.
